Literature is the art of a written work. The word ‘literature’ means ‘acquaintance with letters’. It has different meanings depending on the context in which it is used or on the user. It can be applied to any symbolic records, sculptures, and paintings. It deals only with the texts composed of letters and symbols used in a language.
Linguistics is basically and scientifically the study of a language. A language represents its culture, history, society and politics. It analyses the human knowledge and understanding of the sounds and meanings, developing further into various branches of morphology, semantics, speech sound, grammar and so on.
Language teaching, requires a sound knowledge on a particular language a person teaches. English Language Teaching helps in understanding the use of the language with the basic methods and principles provided. It develops the skills of the learners who learn English as a second language
